For those of you who might be new to this blog (check out my about me section) I live about an hour outside of Savannah, so weekend excursions or small day trips have become the norm for me. Each time I look forward to going, and I don't plan on it getting old anytime soon because truth is I LOVE SAVANNAH! It was one of the first stops when I moved to Georgia, it was were Cory asked me to be his girlfriend, it's where the closes target is located (the struggles), and altogether I love the atmosphere. Savannah is one of those cities that is so full of history, and must see stops, but also is a town where you can find some hidden treasures once you get lost. It is a place that you can go with your significant other, as a family, or a friend getaway (I see about 5 bachelorette parties each time I go). In expressing my love for this city, and in hoping of being a helpful guide for when you visit, I am doing a four part (who knows could keep adding!) post all about Savannah: where to drink, eat, sights to see, and to finish it all off my ultimate day guide! With each post I will be including price points, as well as highlighting the favorites of mine and Cory's. I want you to get the whole perspective of what can be found is this city, so lets start the first post on the subject of where to get a good drink. *please drink responsibly
Moon River Brewing Company- $$
I first heard about Moon River Brewing Company on a youtube series I watch, Buzzfeed:Unsolved, where they explored the sight as part of a supernatural investigation. Let me take this moment now to say there are many ghost tours and legends in Savannah as it is deemed one of the most haunted cities, so a building having a history of supernatural occurrences is not unusual.
Moving on, I knew that is was a place that I wanted to go from that alone, but It also is highly recommended on other guides to Savannah. This place does not disappoint! It is pub style, and has some great and cheap food fair, but as the name suggests you come for the brew. They have a decent size draft list, featuring some local and seasonal drinks. Beer not your thing? They have a great cocktail menu as well, I suggest the Bloody Mary. What I think sold this place for me was not only is it located in a central area of the city, but it features an outdoor beer garden and is pet friendly (seriously they have water dishes all ready to go)! So take your pup, grab a beer, and relax at Moon River! Side note: They do have a couple nods to one of my favorite movies, Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Top Deck Bar-$$$
Top Deck Bar is on the more expensive side, however you are paying for not only some very good specialty cocktails but the experience as well. As the name suggest it is located on top
deck, on top of a hotel, overlooking river street. The view is spectacular, and I really like that while it is located on top of a hotel it is open to the public. We went on a day that. wasn't too crowded, but I could see it filling up on a weekend summer night so I caution to plan accordingly.
To me this bar is perfect for when you want to get away from the street below, and enjoy a drink more on the classy side before you head to dinner.

Wet Willies-$
Wet Willies was one of those places that right when I moved to Statesboro I heard about, "If you go to savannah you have to go to Wet Willies." and I can see why. Something to note about Savannah is that there are specific areas in which it is open container, and of course a there are two Wet Willies located in the main open container hubs. Wet Willies has become notable because when you walk in they have a wall of alcoholic frozen drinks! They have a wide variety to choose from and different combinations to try to make an entirely new drink. I will say that if you are not a sweet drink fan like myself you need to be more careful selecting. I will say at night this place is packed but not only because of the wall of frozen drinks but it's a good place for a quick grab and go drink. My word to the wise is to be careful, these drinks can be easy to put down on a warm day, but remember they are alcoholic. Again drink responsibly so you don't have to call a cab (one of their drinks names ha). Wet Willies is also not just in Savannah, they have various other location so be sure to check it out!

World of Beer-$$-$$$
Are you a beer fan? Want beer from literally any part of the world you can think of? Well I have found the place for you. Even as a not huge beer fan, this place is impressive, and I can find something that I will enjoy. They have your porters, ciders, ale, wheat, EVERYTHING. Plus they are always getting more in, so every time you go can be a new experience. I have been there a couple times to try a few things, but honestly I would recommend going with a few people, getting some different beer and taste testing each others. It could make for a really fun night, and you might find your next go to beer!
Cory's Picks

Bells Two-Hearted Ale
New Holland's Dragons Milk

The Georgia Tasting Room-$-$$
I am a wine gal, and am always up for a wine tasting so I was pretty pleased when I stumbled upon this place. It is another drink destination located in the open container area. Wine on the go? Score!
This place has a couple different elements to it, first, as already stated, you can include a wine tasting as part of your experience. They start pretty cheap and often have deals going on. You can also select any wine that you want and get it to go! These ranged from different cups and sizes so that is why prices can vary. On top of that they also have frozen wine, so if wet willies is not your jam, try this place. For a wine lover like myself it is a dream, and is the perfect combination of what I would be looking for in a my wine drinking experience. Be sure to try there local wines from Georgia!
